The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) is continuing to coordinate with district administrations, District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) and line departments to expedite restoration works and ensure the timely distribution of relief materials to communities affected by the ongoing monsoon across the state.
According to the NSDMA, road restoration, debris clearance and damage assessment are being carried out on a priority basis in affected districts to restore connectivity and reduce the impact of landslides and flash floods.
In Kohima district, landslides and mudslides have been reported at Kenouzou Colony, DBS Road near T Khel Kharu, Lower Chandmari Colony and Phesama. Partial road blockages have also occurred along NH-29 near the Dzüdza River and the old KMC dumping site. Daily debris clearance at the Phesama landslide is being undertaken by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), while NHIDCL and the Public Works Department (National Highways) are jointly clearing debris along the affected stretches of NH-29. Immediate mitigation and restoration works are continuing in the affected areas.

In Tuensang district, heavy rainfall has completely cut off the road connecting Tuensang Village and Haak. The concerned authorities are assessing the situation to restore connectivity.
In Peren district, the District Administration and DDMA have handed over relief materials to an affected household at Beilikui Ward to support immediate needs while road restoration and landslide clearance operations continue.
In Phek district, the Public Works Department (Roads and Bridges) has successfully cleared a major landslide near Tsundang Village, restoring connectivity along the affected route.
In Longleng district, road clearance operations have been carried out on the Anakhai-Shemnyuching road. However, the road linking Tamlu, Anakhai and Shemnyuching remains blocked, and restoration efforts are continuing to reopen the affected stretch.
In Noklak district, the DDMA cleared a landslide along the 14-km stretch of the Noklak-Saddle Road. Road connectivity has also been restored on the Nokhu-Aniashu and Noklak-Langnok roads following successful clearance operations. Restoration works are continuing in other affected areas to ensure safe movement.
The NSDMA said it will continue working closely with district administrations, DDMAs and line departments to facilitate restoration works and provide relief materials wherever required. It also advised the public to remain vigilant during the ongoing monsoon season, avoid unnecessary travel through landslide-prone areas, and follow advisories issued by the respective district authorities.
