The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has condemned the killing of two Naga civilians at TM-Kasom village along National Highway 202 in Manipur’s Ukhrul district on April 18, and announced a candlelight vigil to be held in Kohima on April 23.
In a statement, the Federation described the attack on unarmed civilians as “a direct assault on the dignity, safety and inherent rights of the Naga people to live in peace within our own homeland,” and termed it a direct threat to the Naga people.
The NSF demanded that the concerned authorities initiate immediate, impartial and stringent action against those responsible, stating that any delay in delivering justice would amount to a serious failure of responsibility.
It also warned that any form of aggression, intimidation or violence against the Naga people would not be tolerated, and stated that any recurrence of such incidents would invite a strong response from the Federation and the public.

The Federation further stated that it remains committed to defending what it described as the collective interests of the Naga homeland.
