PLLA Manipur registered the most dominant victory of the tournament so far, humiliating Don Bosco S.A Dimapur 14–1 today at IG Stadium Kohima in the ongoing 25th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2025. Meanwhile, Mao Students’ Union (Mao S.U) recorded an emphatic win against Meriema to advance into the third round.
In their first match, PLLA had registered an 8–1 victory and improved their record in the second match. In this game, PLLA Manipur thrashed Don Bosco S.A 14–1.
Hemgoulal led the charge with four goals in the 12th, 52nd, 71st, and 76th minutes. Nohminlen netted a hat trick (43’, 54’, 64’), while Ngamkholal also scored three times (57’, 84’, 88’). Joyful scored in the 15th minute, Ngamminlal added one in the 75th minute, and Jangminlal completed a brace in the 79th and stoppage time (90+3’) to finish the thrashing.
Don Bosco S.A’s only goal came in the 80th minute from Niamchuilung.
Jangminlal of PLLA Manipur was adjudged Player of the Match. PLLA Manipur will next face Ward-19 Kohima on October 3 in the third round.
Meanwhile, Mao Students’ Union outclassed Meriema Youth Organisation 5–1 in the day’s second match. Lamminthang bagged a superb hat trick with goals in the 10th, 43rd, and 56th minutes, while W. John scored twice in the 2nd and 40th minutes. Meriema Y.O’s only response came in the 47th minute through Lalgamba.
Lohríi Kaisii of Mao S.U was named Player of the Match. Mao Students’ Union will face Phesama Students’ Union on October 4 in the next round of the tournament.
