The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has appealed to the Government of Nagaland for urgent intervention to facilitate the safe return of Naga students and youths currently stranded in Nepal due to the ongoing political crisis in the country.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary of Nagaland, the NSF expressed serious concern over the safety and well-being of Naga individuals who had travelled to Nepal for academic and professional purposes but are now facing “grave uncertainty and distress” as a result of the prevailing situation.

Seeking immediate government action, the NSF requested the state authorities to coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and other relevant agencies to arrange necessary travel support, documentation and transit assistance to ensure their safe return.

The Federation also urged the state government to prepare necessary logistical and welfare support for the returnees. “The Federation also requests that suitable arrangements be made upon their arrival, including logistical support and immediate assistance where required,” the letter added.

NSF President Mteisuding and General Secretary Kenilo Kent signed the appeal, emphasizing the need for swift and humane action to relieve both the stranded individuals and their concerned families back home.

“The NSF, while steadfast in our commitment to uphold the welfare of Naga students across the globe, earnestly seeks your kind consideration and prompt action on this urgent humanitarian matter,” the NSF added.
