In a major boost for young football talent in Nagaland, the Nagaland Super League (NSL) has announced the launch of a scholarship program aimed at U-20 players. The scholarship is a collaborative effort between the NSL Jury team, the NSL Selection Board, and the INSPIRE Institute of Sports under the JSW Foundation in Bangalore.

During a press conference held on May 12 at Niathu Resort, Chumoukedima, Abu Metha, Vice-President of the Athletics Federation of India and Secretary General of the Nagaland Olympic Association, shared the exciting news. He explained that the NSL Selection Board had identified the top U-20 players from the league to participate in the scholarship program.

“The NSL Jury team and the NSL Selection Board have selected a team of the best U-20 players who participated in the NSL. We have tied up with the INSPIRE Institute of Sports under the JSW Foundation in Bangalore. Our U-20 team will spend time at the INSPIRE Institute, where they will train with FC Bengaluru,” Metha said.
