The Naga Students’ Organization (NSO), Myanmar expressed strong condemnation of statements made by Advisor Imkong L Imchen and Minister Temjen Imna Along on the Free Movement Regime (FMR). The organization questioned the integrity of the two and sought clarification, raising concerns about a potential compromise of Naga rights in favor of political alliances with the BJP government, suggesting the possibility of being labeled traitors in Naga history.

“The Nagas under Myanmar-occupied Naga Land see themselves as victims of the Naga National cause. Statements from people’s representatives are deemed deeply shocking and intolerable,” declared the student body.

Emphasizing solidarity with Naga Organizations critical of Delhi’s policies, it said “the Nagas under Myanmar-occupied Naga Land call upon all Naga Civil Societies and Leaders, particularly those on Indian-occupied Naga Land, to unite against any laws that threaten the rights of the Naga people.”

“United, the Nagas shall overcome someday. This condemnation echoes the Lahe Declaration, a testament to the collective will and determination of the Naga people in Eastern Naga Land, reflecting their unwavering commitment to the promotion of their cultural identity, territorial integrity, and the pursuit of peace within the Naga Homeland,” it added.
