NST Mokokchung has officially resumed its night bus services to Dimapur with the introduction of a new BS6 bus. The relaunch was marked by a flag-off ceremony held at the NST Mokokchung station on Saturday, during which Asst. Pastor Matsung of Sungkomen Baptist Church offered the dedicatory prayer for the bus.
During the event, Assistant General Manager Kevichutuo Sekhose announced that the services will operate on alternate days between Mokokchung and Dimapur. Buses will depart from Mokokchung on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, while departures from Dimapur will occur on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Sekhose expressed appreciation to the Advisor for Transport and the General Manager of the department for their efforts in facilitating the resumption of these services. The Transport Department procured five new buses, one of which was allocated to Mokokchung.
Sekhose outlined the fare structure, stating that the ticket price will be Rs 450 for the route via Wokha and Rs 550 for the route via Amguri. He also indicated that if customer response is positive, the service frequency could be increased to a daily schedule.
The resumption of these services is expected to enhance connectivity between Mokokchung and Dimapur, benefiting passengers traveling between the two locations.
