A nine-member team of the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA), part of the Indian sports contingent under the aegis of the All India Traditional Wrestling & Pankration Federation (AITWPF), safely landed at Dimapur Airport today at 1:30 PM after participating in the recently concluded 5th World Nomad Games 2024 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
NWA President, Vivolie Kezo, warmly welcomed the team on behalf of the association at Dimapur Airport and expressed his joy at their safe return to Nagaland, a press release issued by NWA Joint Secretary Kuzhovesa Soho said.
Congratulating the team for their satisfactory performances, despite not securing any medals this time, Kezo acknowledged their achievement of reaching the quarterfinal stage in some events. He encouraged them not to lose heart but to maintain their sporting spirit, continue with greater zeal, and remain focused on future endeavors.
An early dinner was hosted by President Vivolie Kezo at his residence in Dimapur, after which the team proceeded to Kohima.
