The Ongpangkong Students’ Conference (OKM) is set to organize the inaugural Dr SC Jamir Meritorious Award on July 5, 2025, at the Town Hall, Mokokchung, in honor of Dr SC Jamir, former Chief Minister of Nagaland and former Governor of Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Odisha.
According to OKM, the award seeks to recognize and celebrate the legacy of Dr Jamir—one of the most influential personalities from the Ongpangkong range—”while he is still alive.”
The award will be presented to students from the Ongpangkong range who secured top positions in the NBSE HSLC Examination 2025.
OKM stated that the initiative is aimed at not only encouraging academic excellence but also paying tribute to a living figure whose contributions to Nagaland’s political and social landscape have been monumental.
