To,

The Commissioner & Secretary,
Home Department,
Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority,
Nagaland, Kohima.
Date: June 3, 2025

Subject: Appeal for early release of compensation under SDRF for the year 2024-25 in  Mokokchung District.

Respected Sir,

With utmost respect and deep concern, I write to earnestly appeal for the immediate release of  compensation under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) 2024–25 for the 62 shop owners  who suffered irreparable losses in the devastating fire that engulfed the Mokokchung Shopping  Complex on February 3, 2024, destroying a total of 135 shops.

Following the incident, the then Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung submitted a formal  request for financial assistance on February 5, 2024. Regrettably, despite the passage of several  months, the affected shopkeepers have yet to receive the much-needed relief. This tragic event  did not merely destroy buildings or merchandise but also devastated the livelihoods of dozens  of families. For many, these shops represented their sole source of income—essential for  providing food, education, and a dignified life for their families.

We humbly place our trust in the empathy and sense of justice of the state government and urge  you to take prompt action in the interest of justice and humanitarian relief. The affected families  are counting on this support, not only to rebuild their businesses but to regain stability in their  lives.

We remain hopeful for your timely intervention in this matter of urgent humanitarian concern. Thank you for your kind attention.

Yours sincerely,

Sd/-
