Over 13 lakh Electric Vehicles in use in India; 58 in Nagaland

India has a total of 13,34,385 Electric Vehicles and 27,81,69,631 non-Electric Vehicles in use. State wise, Delhi with 1,56,393 and Karnataka with 1,20,532 EVs have the highest number of EVs. This information was given by the Minister of State for Heavy Industries, Krishan Pal Gurjar, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today. Nagaland also had 58 EVs as per the report. The details given are from the digitized vehicle records as per centralized Vahan4.

Meanwhile, it was informed that, under Phase-I of FAME India Scheme, Ministry of Heavy Industries has sanctioned 520 EV Charging Stations out of which 479 charging stations have been installed as on 01st July, 2022 while 2877 EV Charging Stations in 68 cities across 25 states/UTs have been sanctioned under Phase-II of FAME India Scheme out of which 50 charging stations have been installed as on 01st July, 2022. There are no EV Charging Stations installed in Nagaland as per the report. MHI has also sanctioned 1576 EV Charging Stations across 9 Expressways & 16 Highways.

 

As of January 1, 2022, there are 1536 Retail Outlets (Ros) across India where EV Charging facility is available, including 2 in Nagaland.
