The Peren District Pharmacist Association observed World Pharmacist Day on September 25 under the theme “Empowering Pharmacists for healthier futures”.
Chief Medical Officer Peren Dr K. Limatula Ao, in her keynote address, highlighted the contribution of pharmacists to healthcare, particularly in patient safety and counselling. She encouraged pharmacists to discharge their duties with sincerity and dedication and stressed the need to strengthen their skills, knowledge and recognition while embracing digital healthcare and responsible medicine use.
District Programme Officer Sentila Longchar called on pharmacists to reaffirm their commitment to their responsibilities as healthcare providers and appreciated their service and dedication.
Nagaland Pharmacist Association president Sani Stephen delivered the welcome address, while Head Pharmacist, District Hospital Peren, Hosea Apon administered the Pharmacists’ Oath.
The programme also featured a special musical rendition by Yipungchule, Christian Education Director, Police Church, Dimapur, and a special address by retired pharmacist Kwetdahing Samding.
Keyidaule Ndang, Pharmacist, District Hospital Peren, chaired the programme, while Treasurer PDPA Kirangngngaulule Elu delivered the vote of thanks. Pharmacists, medical officers, nurses and retired pharmacists attended the programme.
