Wokha, 20 August (MTNews): Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, has stated that no organization has obtained permission for a peace rally scheduled for 22 August in and around Wokha town. In an official order, Ranjan pointed out that a certain group of churches is planning to organize a “Peace Rally” at Zero Point, Vankhosung on 22 August. He emphasized that no permission has been obtained by any organization for holding any such rally in and around Wokha town or Vankhosung. Stating that no such rally will be allowed, the DC reminded that the area is considered “sensitive” while the matter of Lotha Baptist Church Association (LBCA) is pending before the Gauhati High Court.

 

He further directed all concerned parties to adhere to the order and cautioned that action will be taken under the law against those who fail to comply with the order.

 

Meanwhile, the Nagaland government has assigned Secretary Home Department, Peter Lichamo to look after all the matters in regard to the Lotha Baptist Church Association disputes and concerned issues including the court cases under GAB-1, home Department.
