Mokokchung, October 26 (MTNews): The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Mokokchung Division, conducted basic skill development training under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Mangkolemba and Longchem blocks of Mokokchung district on October 24 and 25.
Watinukshi, Supervisor PHED Mokokchung and Yarenshilu, a skilled welder, trained the participants in plumbing, fitting, welding, and masonry. The participants were from a total of 22 villages.
Er. Jongpongyanger, SDO Mangkolemba, spoke about the roles of Water and Sanitation (WATSAN) committees in the maintenance and sustainability of the water supply system. He emphasized the importance of WATSAN committees and trained personnel and urged them to take responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the village water system and informed the committee to collect taxes for the same.
Tsukrusungla Jamir, District Coordinator, delivered the keynote address.
