An awareness and registration program for the Central Sector Scheme, ‘PM Kisan Saman Nidhi,’ was held on Wednesday at the Changtongya (old) Community Hall by SBI, LBO office, and NABARD, Mokokchung officials for Yaongyimsen, Changtongya, Akhoya, and Unger villages. Ronheu Peseyie, SDO (C) Changtongya noted during his keynote address that the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme was initiated by the Government of India to offer monetary support to struggling Indian farmers.

 

He also stated that the PM Kisan Saman Nidhi Scheme has been modified to include credit help for fisheries and animal husbandry production.

 

During a brief exhortation, S. Amarjit Mangang, DDM, NABARD, Mokokchung, mentioned that the KCC loan is available to all farmers as well as pensioners earning less than Rs. 10,000 per month, and that the payback period is 5 years at a rate of 7% per annum. At the same time, he stated that only the “working capital requirements” of the fisheries and animal husbandry will be granted to the beneficiaries.

 

Hatneikim Gangte Imsong, Chief Manager (LDM) SBI, LBO office, Mokokchung led the registration process.
