Mokokchung, 10 February (MTNews): The Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur(ASTD), Dimapur Watsu Telongjem (DWT), and Dimapur Ao Youth Organization(DAYO) has appreciated the Dimapur Police Commissionerate for the timely suspension of the cops involved in the “savage assault and excesses committed by these uncivilized personnel” against Moalong Jamir on 29 January.
The three organizations have also appealed to the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur for “thorough unbiased investigation” so that befitting punishment will be given to the perpetrators.
“We jointly thank all the student bodies, CSOs and organizations that have extended their unflinching support in demanding justice,” a press release received here said.
The three organizations said they “strongly vouch for proper standard operating system to be in place, orientation of cops on special duties as well as public sensitization pertaining to matters of public threat perception,” so that such unfortunate incidents will not be repeated in days to come to any citizen.
