Posting in far-flung areas should not be taken as punishment: C Kipili Sangtam

Kiphire, 18 April (MTNews): “Posting in far-flung areas should not be taken as punishment posting but rather take it as a blessing in helping downtrodden people,” said MLA and Chairman District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Kiphire, C. Kipili Sangtam.

 

Sangtam, who is the new Chairman of DPDB Kiphire made this remark today at a felicitation program where the newly elected legislators from Kiphire district were honored and also the monthly District Planning and Development Board meeting for Kiphire was held.

 

The Chairman, stressing on the importance of attendance said that he would be strict on the “members’ attendance at the next meeting” and added that “action would be necessitated as per the norms of the government for the absentees.”

 

The chairman also appealed to the officers to put their efforts and work together for the progress of the district.

 

MLA and Chairman DPDB Kiphire, C. Kipili Sangtam, Advisor for Home Guard, Fire and Emergency and Civil Defense Kiusumew Yimkhiung along with a host of dignitaries attended the meeting.

 

During the program, the NITI Aayog award for best performance in Agri Sector-High Maize productivity was awarded to Ditanvong Village Council, best performance in the Health sector was awarded to Singrep Village Health Committee, and Agnes Hosela of Kipongya ward Kiphire was also awarded for her work in the Nutrition sector.
