A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) was signed between the Power Department and Fitzroy Energy & Minerals Ltd in the presence of Advisor, Power, H. Tovihoto Ayemi and officials from Power Department and Finance Department. Principal Secretary, Power, K.D. Vizo; Commissioner & Secretary, Finance Department, V. Kezo; and Director, Fitzroy Energy & Minerals Ltd, Temjenmoa Jamir were the signatories. The PPA was signed for setting up of a 27 MW Thermal Power plant in Tuli, Mokokchung District.

Speaking in the occasion, the Advisor said that the department wants to encourage companies and entrepreneurs for investing in energy generation and stated that three more PPAs have been signed with different companies by the department in solar, thermal and hydro energy generation and informed that a biomass energy generation plant is also in the pipeline. He further said that besides the generation of much needed power in the state, it will generate employment opportunities for Naga youths.

 

Temjenmoa Jamir, Director, Fitzroy Energy & Minerals Ltd, in his speech expressed his gratitude to the Advisor for his visionary leadership and foresight and thanked the department officials for their support and dedicated efforts. He stated that results will be shown on the ground and hoped that it will be a significant addition to the growth of Nagaland.
The meeting was chaired by Principal Secretary, Power, K.D. Vizo.
