Preparations are underway for the 63rd General Session of the Amahator Village Students’ Union, scheduled to be held from December 27 to 29, 2025, at Amahator Headquarters in Kiphire district. The three-day programme will be organised under the theme “Embracing Cultural Identity in Christ.”
Members of the students’ union, along with village volunteers and community leaders, are engaged in arrangements for the upcoming session. Preparatory work includes venue decoration, logistical planning, coordination of cultural activities and arrangements for accommodating guests. Organisers said the efforts reflect a shared commitment to preserving Sangtam cultural heritage while strengthening unity among the youth.
The general session will feature the participation of invited guests from within and outside the district. Sethrichem Sangtam, founder of the Better Life Foundation and a Lead India Fellow, will attend the programme as the Cultural Guest. Known for his work in rural development, environmental sustainability and livelihood initiatives in eastern Nagaland, his presence has drawn interest among students and community members.
Dr Apise Sangtam will deliver the theme address, focusing on the relationship between cultural identity and Christian values. Rotiba Sangtam has been invited as the Resource Person and is expected to share insights relevant to students and youth leadership.
Solidarity speeches will also form part of the programme. Longtili Sangtam, President of the Seyochung Village Students’ Union, and Lithrongba Sangtam, President of the Amahator Village Students’ Union, will address the gathering on different days, highlighting cooperation, leadership and shared responsibilities among student bodies.
