Presidential of India, Droupadi Murmu presented the Padma Shri to Moa Subong on 05 April.
A musician and composer, Moa Subong along with his spouse Guru Arenla Subong formed a Naga Folk Fusion band ‘Abiogenesis’ and has evolved a new form of Naga music. Moa Subong invented the musical instrument called ‘bamhum’ – a wind musical instrument made from bamboo.
Moa Subong was conferred with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, in the Art category. (MTNews)
