PRESS STATEMENT
Oking: December 7, 2023
With this press statement we once again declare the sanctity of Nagalim territory, whether in the present Indian state (or Myanmar as the case maybe), and we reiterate our position that we do not recognize the artificial state and international boundaries created by the concerned states that has divided the Naga territory without their free and informed consent, whether in the present Indian state or Myanmar (erstwhile Burma).
The present fragmented geographical condition of Nagalim created by the concerned states is not recognized and acknowledged by the Nagas, wherever they are, and they cannot legitimize the further fragmentation of Nagalim. We reaffirm our position that the integration of Naga areas is non-negotiable. Nagalim and the integration of Naga areas has been duly recognized by the Government of India in the current political negotiation with the National Socialist Council of Nagalim/Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (NSCN/GPRN).
However, the double standard and the impunity with which the present Indian state (or Myanmar as the case maybe), are creating division amongst the different nationalities in the present North- East of India or Myanmar (erstwhile Burma) and the plot to further disintegrate the Naga areas and legitimize the hegemonic intentions of the Indian state (or Myanmar as the case maybe), through some groups and organizations in the name of democracy and Peace Agreement by giving military aids, logistics, and setting up designated camps in Naga areas is outrightly condemned and will have deep undesirable ramifications to the current Indo-Naga political talks between the Government of India (Gol) and NSCN/GPRN.
The Naga people and the NSCN/GPRN are opposed to, and does not recognize the division and disintegration of Nagalim and her territory, whether in present India (or Myanmar as the case maybe) in the name of creating artificial provinces/states, townships, administrative districts, designated camps or by any other program and policies of the concerned states. We outrightly condemn the violation of our territory by the concemed states whether in present India (or Myanmar as the case maybe). The Nagas and the NSCN/GPRN shall not remain a silent spectator, and the Gol (or Myanmar as the case maybe) will be responsible for any untoward consequences arising out of their arbitrary decision.
The NSCN/GPRN upholds our national principle on sovereignty of the Nagas and Nagalim, and the non-negotiable position on Naga national flag and Naga constitution/Yehzabo; secondly, our unique history, that Nagalim was and is never a part of India (or Myanmar as the case maybe); and thirdly, Nagalim is a political issue and not the internal matter of India (or Myanmar as the case maybe). Therefore, the declaration of Amit Shah, the honorable Home Minister of India- “Ek Pradhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Vidhan” (One Prime Minister, one flag and one constitution) for the present Indian state is not applicable to Nagalim or other nations struggling for their right to self-determination / independence. Nagalim is sovereign and accordingly, the political agreement between India and Nagalim represented by the NSCN/GPRN shall not be within the Union of India or its constitution but shall be of two sovereigns, according to the letter and spirit of the Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015.
