The Nagaland Private Doctors Association (NPDA) has strongly criticized the Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS) and Future Generali Insurance (FGI) for failing to honor their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Empaneled Health Care Providers (EHCPs). The association accused both entities of misleading the public and unfairly blaming doctors and private healthcare institutions.

In an emergency meeting held on February 8, the NPDA announced a series of demands in response to what they described as a breach of trust by NHPS and FGI. The association declared that private hospitals would suspend services under Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) starting February 15, 2025, until all pending claims are settled.

Additionally, they demanded that NHPS issue a public apology for allegedly damaging the reputation of EHCPs. The NPDA also stated that no new agreements concerning EHCPs would be signed without their approval.
