‘Others look up to Ao Nagas as torchbearers’
Highlighting the unique historical position of the Ao Nagas, Thsuvisie Phoji stated that they were blessed to be the first among the Nagas to receive Christianity, and that people from different districts have looked up to the Ao Nagas as torchbearers. He emphasized that the Ao Nagas’ continued commitment to being role models is crucial, as any deviation from that may negatively impact the perception of the rest of the Nagas towards them.
Phoji also recognized the historical significance of the Ao Nagas as torchbearers of the Nagas and highlighted the positive impact their leadership has had on the state. However, he cautioned against complacency, urging the Ao Nagas not to rest on their laurels but to continue being inspirational figures for others to emulate. He cautioned that any decline in their role modeling might lead to a negative perception of them among other Nagas.
