Mokokchung, April 6 (MTNews): A 30-day production oriented theater workshop will be held in Mokokchung, set to begin from April 8.
The theater workshop is a collaboration between Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi; Hill Theater and Department of Art & Culture, Mokokchung. Intake capacity for the workshop is limited to 25 seats, to be admitted on ‘first come first’ basis and is elibigle for those above the age of 17.
“With a mission to spread the awareness of theatre knowledge in Nagaland and to let our people know that dramatic art is also a profession we can take up as a career, these are our baby steps starting from Mokokchung,” Bendang Walling of hill Theater said. “Hill Theatre has a vision to cover every district in Nagaland to spread the importance of theatre, along with a mission to preserve, popularise, protect, and practise our mother tongue, folklore, culture, and tradition,” h further said.
The workshop will conclude with a production (a play) on May 7th at Town Hall, Mokokchung.
