To review the overall progress of the 25th Edition of the Hornbill Festival 2024, a meeting was held on November 23, 2024, at Rhododendron Hall, Police Complex, Chumoukedima, under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of Nagaland. All respective HODs from the departments attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio provided suggestions for enhancing the venue’s aesthetic appeal, food arrangements, and other aspects of the Hornbill Festival preparations. He confirmed that the inauguration of various projects would proceed as scheduled. Earlier, he launched a commemorative coin for the 25th Edition of the Hornbill Festival, alongside the Hornbill Festival booklet.

Advisor to the Chief Minister, Abu Metha, highlighted the events scheduled for the Hornbill Festival and outlined the musical bands participating in the Hornbill Music Festival. This festival, which runs parallel to the main event, is one of the biggest rock music events in the country, attracting bands and artists from across India and abroad.

Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang addressed the condition of the national highway, acknowledging that natural calamities are beyond control. However, he urged the concerned departments to ensure that the road is passable before the festival.

Minister for Tourism, Temjen Imna Along, in his closing remarks, gave an overview of the Tourism Hornbill Festival mobile application, which is set to launch shortly. He thanked the Chief Minister for his guidance, as well as the Chief Secretary and all line departments for their contributions toward the successful conduct of the 25th Edition of the Hornbill Festival.

Chief Secretary J Alam, IAS, provided an overview of the preparations underway at Kisama for the Hornbill Festival, including logistics such as roads, water, and the power sector. He also outlined the actions being taken to ensure smooth transport operations during the festival. After the meeting, he, along with the Home Commissioner and other officials, visited the airport and railway station, where work is in progress. He interacted with the official in charge and urged that the work be completed before the Hornbill Festival, ensuring that tourists will have a safe and warm welcome during their visit to the 25th Hornbill Festival in Nagaland.
