Sovima Road, once a symbol of connectivity, has deteriorated into a nightmarish ordeal for those who rely on it, the PCJ said. “The thorough investigation conducted by team of “Project Constitutional Justice” under the leadership of Dr. Aniruddha Babar, Project Director, assisted by Liose Sangtam, Berile Sangtam and Haiguing Kuame has unearthed a myriad of issues plaguing the road,” it was reported.

“Potholes of alarming dimensions, eroded pavements, and gaping crevices have transformed the once-smooth roadway into a treacherous obstacle course, endangering the lives of motorists, pedestrians, and students alike,” it claimed.

The report highlighted the dire situation of Sovima Road, which affects Tetso College and local residents. It said the road’s poor condition jeopardizes the safety and accessibility of students and staff, leading to struggles for those navigating the “hazardous terrain.”

Even auto-rickshaw drivers avoid this road due to its terrible state, it added. In light of the distressing findings, the report said that concerned people have come together through PCJ to appeal to the Nagaland government for swift and comprehensive action.

The urgency was emphasized as each day worsens the risks and inconveniences. The project’s revelation has sparked a strong call to action, it said, demanding immediate and comprehensive intervention from the government.
