With the initiative of the Officers and Staffs of the Mokokchung Forest Division, a Marep Forest Park was inaugurated on 8th of June 2022 by Dharmendra Prakash, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Forces, Nagaland.

Dr. Sentitula, IFS, DFO Mokokchung stated that this Marepkong Forest Park aims to offer opportunities to teach about the environment and the importance of preserving natural ecosystems, a beautiful urban forest park, whose landscape can bring people enjoyment, becomes an important place for residents’ morning exercise, leisure, tourism, and other activities. Through this park, the Forest Department desires to offer space for demonstrating good environmental practices, develop environmental stewardship towards conservation and preservation.

 

The Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Head of Forests Force, Dharmendra Prakash IFS congratulated the efforts of the Officers and staff of the Division for working tirelessly towards conservation efforts. An update from the department informed that he also interacted with all the ranks and files of the Division and reviewed the progress and concerns of the staffs. He has also interacted with the wood based industry units and mill owners under Tuli, Milak, Longtho and Longnak industrial zones.

 

Rongsenlemla, IFS CF(NTC) highlighted the progress of all the Forest Divisions under Northern Territorial Circle (Mokokchung, Tuensang, Kiphire, Longleng, Mon and Zunheboto) and has encouraged the officers and staffs to continue working for the benefit of the people and to strive towards ‘Living Sustainably in Harmony with Nature’ restoring and safeguarding Mother Earth.

 

The Marepkong Forest Park was inaugurated by the PCCF and HFF in the presence of Rongsenlemla, IFS, Conservator of Forests (NTC), Dr. Sentitula, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Mokokchung; Sashilemla, Range Officer Mokokchung; Moamongba, Range Officer, Changtongya; Ailong Phom, Range Officer, Tuli; Temjenmongba, Range Officer Mangkolemba; Shilutemjen, Range Officer, Longtho; Imkongmar, Range Officer in-charge, Changchang Beat; Moakumdang, Range Officer, Longchem; all executive staff, ministerial staff and NFMP staffs.
