International Youth Day 2026 was observed at PACSU Hall, Pungro, under the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations”, bringing together around 40 local youth.

The programme provided a platform for young people to showcase their talents, exchange ideas and participate in discussions focused on youth empowerment, confidence, creativity and community development.
Josi K., SDO, Power Department, Pungro, attended as special guest, while Ronald from R2BF, Guwahati, and Imli from Kohima delivered keynote addresses virtually through Google Meet.
The programme was initially planned at Youth Khiang Yam in Medical Ward but was shifted to PACSU Hall due to space constraints. Despite the short-notice venue change and technical and internet connectivity issues during the virtual session, the programme was successfully conducted.
The celebration encouraged youth to actively participate in community activities, build confidence and work collectively towards a better and more inclusive community, while highlighting their role in addressing local challenges and contributing to community development.
