Mokokchung, 29 March (MTNews): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) in a weather update on Wednesday stated that light to heavy rainfall activity is expected in the state over the following week.
“Several other weather conditions will be seen during this time along with hefty showers. There may be partly cloudy moderate rain from 30th March to 4th of April 2023 all over the state,” the NSDMA update said.
It was also forecasted that thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind with wind speed 30 to 40 kmph is very likely to occur in certain pockets in the districts of Peren, Dimapur, Kohima, Tseminyu, Wokha, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon and Longleng during this period. The state’s minimum and maximum temperatures will vary between 8°C and 30°C during this time, it also predicted.
Further, the NSDMA has urged the public to exercise caution to avoid any eventualities during this period. The NSDMA also requested all the District Disaster Management Authorities and other line departments to be on alert to save lives and properties during this monsoon period.
