Addressing the inaugural session, Razouseyi Vese, Additional Director of School Education, Nagaland, highlighted the acute shortage of PETs in the state. He noted that due to financial constraints, the government has been unable to create the required PET positions in all schools. However, he assured that the department is exploring alternative solutions through other agencies. Currently, there are 263 PETs serving in the state.

Vese encouraged the PETs to adopt a resource-sharing approach and extend their support to neighboring schools, emphasizing that such efforts would be a positive development. He also urged them to identify and nurture student talent to higher levels of achievement.
“Physical well-being is critical for students to excel in any field,” Vese said, urging the PETs to serve as ambassadors of physical health and mental strength.

Chungngam Konyak, Deputy Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, also addressed the gathering. He encouraged the PETs to make meaningful use of the training and improve their performance. He added that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 places significant importance on physical education in schools.
