Wokha, 13 November (MTNews): “My Culture, My Identity”: A colorful and exciting cultural program was organized by Regimental School DEF Wokha on November 13, 2023, in the School Campus with Aotula T Imchen, IPS, and Superintendent of Police Wokha as the Special Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Imchen stressed the cultural values and the importance of preserving our traditional practices and values. “Our culture is our way of life, if we do not preserve it, it will decay and die,” noted the young commander.

Soriso Quinker, NPS Addl. SP & Chairman of the School Managing Board Wokha, exhorted the gathering and spoke on the importance of family and the role of parents in this fast-changing world and changing times.

 

Students of the school enthralled the gathering with a colorful cultural display of folk songs, dances, poems, and stories.

The program started with a God’s blessing invoked by Zuben N Ngullie, Pastor Police Baptist Church. The program was also attended by Thungdemo Kyong (Chief Team Metamorphosis) and his colleagues.

Other highlights of the program included a folk song by students of class 8-10, a poem by Areni Odyuo of class, a story narration by Renbemo Ngullie, and a traditional attire parade by students from LKG – Class 10. The event was followed by an exhibition of cultural artifacts, attires, Lotha Naga Morung, a display of seeds, medicinal plants, and indigenous games, along with an interaction of students with the Special Guest.
