Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Sunday inaugurated the St. Joseph Pain and Palliative Care Centre in Chümoukedima, the state’s first full-fledged palliative care centre.
In a tweet, Rio said the St. Joseph Pain and Palliative Care Centre is an initiative of the Catholic Church in Nagaland and managed by the Congregation of MSJ, Nirmala Province Ernakulam.
“This first full-fledged palliative care centre in Nagaland intends to provide service free of cost,” he said.
“The state govt. will extend all possible help to carry out this gratuitous service to the people. I congratulate the Catholic Church under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, for starting this new and much needed service,” he added.
