The Routine Maintenance of Rooftop Solar PV Installation and Saura-e Mitra training, organized by NPCCHH and SELCO Foundation in collaboration with the Department of Health & Family Welfare (DoHFW), was successfully conducted on the 6th and 7th of August 2025 at the CMO Conference Hall, Mokokchung.
The training was held in the presence of Dr. Nyanthung Kikon, SNO, NPCCHH, DoHFW Kohima; Dr Nounengulie Kire, Consultant; Tsukjemsangla, Consultant, NPCCHH Kohima; Dr S Marina Yaden, CMO, Mokokchung; and Dr Takusunep, Dy CMO, Mokokchung.
The program was chaired by Dr Martula, DVBO & DSO, and S Jongtosang, District Pharmacy Officer, Mokokchung.
Imkongsungla Jamir, Project Coordinator, SELCO Foundation, DoHFW Kohima, introduced the SELCO Foundation, its initiatives, and gave an overview of the training program.
In her keynote address, Dr Marina Yaden thanked the SELCO Foundation and NPCCHH for initiating the much-needed program. She referred to the solarization of health units in the district as a privilege and encouraged the attendees to maintain their health units in alignment with the goal of a sustainable future.
Dr Nyanthung Kikon expressed gratitude to the SELCO Foundation for the “life-changing” initiative and encouraged participants to take full advantage of the opportunity to equip themselves with the knowledge offered through the training.
The training was facilitated by Imlisunep, who guided the trainees on the importance of routine maintenance of Solar PV systems. The sessions covered the basics of the Solar PV system and its components, routine inspection procedures, maintenance practices, and incident management systems.
Health staff from across Mokokchung District successfully attended the training.
The training program will continue at Mangkolemba on the 8th of August 2025 for health staff from the Mangkolemba, Alongkima, and Tzürangkong blocks.
