The Rising Peoples’ Party (RPP) has called on all stakeholders to address the urgent issue of illegal immigration in Nagaland by forming a unified “Survival Nagaland” movement. The party said on Satruday that while organizations such as the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) have made significant efforts over the years to combat illegal immigration, a broader, collective approach is now essential.

Taking inspiration from the Survival Mokokchung campaign launched by the AKM in 2007, the RPP advocated for the establishment of a pan-Nagaland youth force /body tasked solely for the purpose of checking illegal immigration in the state. The party urged the formation of this body without delay, starting with tribal, student, and youth organizations from the foothill areas of the state.

The RPP acknowledged the deep divisions within society due to various contentious issues but underscored that illegal immigration represents an existential threat to the Naga community. The party called for unity among all sections of society, including civil society organizations (CSOs), tribal bodies, youth groups, student organizations, and political parties.

“We appeal to all the patriotic people of the state, especially the tribal youth bodies, to consider our humble opinion with an open mind,” RPP pleaded.
