The Sakraba Students’ Union (SSU) held its 59th General Session on December 27, 2024, at the Local Ground, Sakraba Town, under the theme “The Art of Thriving: Weaving Life Skills.”
Dr Pritpal Kaur, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Phek, graced the inaugural session as the guest speaker. Sharing her life journey, she spoke about overcoming challenges through determination and perseverance. She emphasized that no job is too big or small and that all work holds value and meaning. She encouraged students to stay persistent in pursuing their dreams, stating that with grit and perseverance, their visions can become reality.
Dr Kaur also challenged societal myths, such as the belief that only individuals from privileged backgrounds can achieve success, that girls are confined to household roles, or that one’s talents are inadequate. She urged the audience to break free from such limitations and to preserve the rich cultural and traditional heritage of their community.
The evening session featured Vekhohu Puro, NCS, EAC, Phek, who delivered a speech on various types of competitive examinations and shared his personal journey of overcoming challenges during his preparation. He highlighted the importance of prayer and consistency in achieving success.
A panel discussion was also organized, featuring Vekhohu Puro and Chovelu Cukhamu, Secretariat Assistant, who shared personal experiences and advice on competitive exam preparation. The discussion was moderated by Dr Nusa Lohe, President of the Sakraba Students’ Union.
The 59th General Session concluded with the union reaffirming its commitment to empowering students through initiatives that inspire personal growth while preserving cultural values.
