Tuensang, 18 October (MTNews): The Chang Wedoshi Setshang (CWS) or Chang Students’ Conference, in response to a letter dated 18 October 2023 from Minister of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland, Temjen Imna Along, announcing a consultative meeting scheduled for 20 October 2023, has temporarily suspended their planned Phase-II of Agitation.

It may be recalled that the CWS made an announcement on Tuesday, revealing their decision to initiate phase-II of their agitation, which was set to commence on 18 October 2023. This phase involved the closure of government departmental offices within the Tuensang district.

However, the CWS said that the Sao Chang College will remain closed until its Charter of Demands is met.

The Sao Chang College has been shut since 12 October due to the authorities’ failure to meet a charter of four demands: the appointment of a principal, allotment of college buses, deployment of teaching and non-teaching staff, and an upgrade of the college’s science laboratory.
