The programme, chaired by K. Michael, opened with the folk song Marahang Lii, followed by a blessing from K. Namba. MCF Convenor Peter Ki welcomed guests and highlighted the journey leading to the fourth edition of the celebration.

Distinguished leaders, including Chief Host K. Namba and Chief Patron Livingstone Joshua, attended the event.

Cultural performances were the highlight of the celebration, with various khels (Sagais) presenting Magu Kamaga, Rujai Taa Kamaga, and Rahi Tii Kamaga. The traditional songs, dances, and customs reflected the community’s unity, creativity, and identity.

Addressing the gathering, Livingstone Joshua urged the younger generation to preserve and carry forward their traditions.

A community meal was later shared, fostering togetherness among participants. This was followed by a traditional dress contest in which contestants appeared in indigenous attire.

The event concluded with the screening of a documentary showcasing Maram Cultural Day celebrations held annually since 2023.

Held days after the Northern Maram-Southern Angami 100-Year Brotherhood commemoration on April 11 at the same venue, the programme reinforced the importance of cultural preservation amid growing emphasis on Indigenous Knowledge Systems.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Thuiba Samuel.
