The 8th Medziphema Town Students’ Union Interschool Football Tournament concluded today, with SFS HSS and GHSS Medziphema emerging as champions in the Higher Secondary and High School categories, respectively.
In the Higher Secondary final, SFS HSS defeated GHSS Medziphema, scoring two goals in regular time. The first goal came from Paotinsat Sithlou, who converted a penalty following a handball inside the box. Kevisede secured the victory with a brilliant solo run, dribbling past four defenders and netting the ball from an almost impossible angle.
The High School final was a closely contested match between KDHSS and GHSS Medziphema. GHSS Medziphema took an early lead through a goal from Kevineito. Despite constant pressure, KDHSS could not equalize. In the second half, KDHSS’s forwards showed more determination, but their defense faltered, allowing Letboison and Visalie to extend the lead. KDHSS managed a consolation goal in the final minutes, courtesy of Kezhavizo.
The final score was 3-1 in favor of GHSS Medziphema.
