A slow loris was rescued by conscientious students after it was found in a human-inhabited area near Fazl Ali College in Chuchuyimpang village, Mokokchung, on the evening of 23 April after a student discovered it near her house around 8:00 pm. The nocturnal primate was rescued and taken to her house before being handed over to the Forest Department personnel. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) lists Slow lorises as ‘endangered’ and’ vulnerable’.
