Jaipur, 28 April (MTNews): A Nigerian youth and a woman hailing from Nagaland were arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan Police for allegedly duping a woman of more than Rs 6 lakh on the pretext of marriage, reported PTI.

 

According to SOG’s Additional Director General Ashok Rathore, the 29-year-old man, who was posing as a doctor in Britain, had offered to marry the victim and open a large hospital in India.
Later, pretending to be from the Customs Department and the airport authority, he received Rs 6,49,900 from the woman and deposited it in various bank accounts. A case in this regard was registered at the Cybercrime police station in Jaipur.

 

Following an inquiry, the SOG squad apprehended O B Alex Samuel of Nigerian descent and his friend Hinotoli (35) of Nagaland. Both were living in New Delhi.

 

According to the SOG ADG, the accused’s possession included Rs 60,000 in Indian money, an ATM card, a credit card, a SIM card, and a PAN card. Rathore noted that the defendants were also found in possession of Nepali and Nigerian currency.
