Kohima, March 14 (MTNews): The state-level workshop for technology innovations, TECHNOVATION Nagaland 2023, was held at Hotel Vivor Kohima on 14 March.
The workshop was organized by AIC (Atal Incubation Centre) SELCO Foundation and Sustainable Development Goals Coordination Centre (SDGCC), Planning and Transformation Department.

 

The state-level workshop for technology innovations, TECHNOVATION Nagaland 2023, was held at Hotel Vivor Kohima on 14 March (DIPR)

 

Er Awalo Keppen, Assistant Manager, Nagaland Tool Room & Training Center in his address thanked the organizers for letting the NTTC be part of the program and highlighted the working and functions of NTTC. He said that NTTC is a society of government under the department of Industries and Commerce established in the year 2006.

 

NTTC is also selected as one of the startup incubators under Startup Nagaland and has been helping businesses to build up their visions. They are also involved with innovators in developing different types of technologies ranging from Agri and allied services. He said that with adequate state-of-the-art machinery, the NTTC is ready to extend its services to all innovators.

 

Er Kevitso Kenneth, Senior Scientific Officer, Science & Technology in his address thanked the AIC, SELCO, SDGCC, Planning & Transformation for organizing the important event. He believed that this workshop would give an insight into scouting, supporting, and spawning local innovators. He took the example of JCB Joseph Cyril Bamford as an innovator who was a school dropout but with his hard work and dedication, he set up the JCB Excavators Company in his name.

 

Nayantara Sasikumar IES, OSD (Planning) & SDG Nodal Officer in her keynote address extended her gratitude to the team from AIC central foundation and said that she supports the cause that they stand for. She also extended her appreciation to all the innovators, representatives, and local organizations.

 

She expressed delight for the sustainable innovations being initiated such as the SDG innovations, participatory action, and research initiatives, though it is a small initiative started last year.

 

Sasikumar maintained that through this initiative of AIC-SELCO Foundation and SDGCC with the support of the relevant government departments and local organizations, innovators would come up with their proposals and become successful entrepreneurs.

 

The event included expert sessions on building an ecosystem for technology innovators and startups which was done by Youth Net, discussion sessions and innovator diagnostics.

 

A welcome address was delivered by Gaurav Barthakur, AIC Team.
