To foster young minds and leverage the potential for science, mathematics, and technology learning in non-classroom settings beyond the four walls of a classroom, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, under the Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA), organized an exclusive exposure trip to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati for science students from Government Higher Secondary Schools.

Three students from each district, totaling 39 students, along with four teacher guides, were selected for the trip with the objective of broadening their horizons, sparking curiosity, and inspiring them to explore the wonders of science. The exposure trip took place from December 14th to December 17th, 2024, and involved various activities such as a career counseling session by Prof. Ramesh Kumar Sonkar from the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, IIT Guwahati, and an interactive session on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence by Dr. Debanga Raj from the Department of Data Science and AI, IIT Guwahati. The students also had the opportunity to visit the Central Library, the Computer and Communication Centre (Supercomputer) at IIT Guwahati.

Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA) is primarily focused on enabling children to become motivated and engaged in Science, Mathematics, and Technology (SMT) through observation, experimentation, inference drawing, model building, rational reasoning, and testability. It aims to create curiosity, excitement, and exploration among school children in Science, Mathematics, and Technology, fostering a culture of thinking, inventing, tinkering, and doing to promote inquiry-based learning in schools. Likewise, the exposure trip was organized by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland under Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA) with the core goal of promoting and fostering scientific temper.
