Zunheboto, 27 April (MTNews): The Sümi Hoho, during an Executive Committee Meeting convened on 27 April 2024 at Sümi Hoho Ki, Zunheboto, unanimously passed a resolution addressing the issue of involvement in activities associated with the ‘non-existent entity’ known as Naga Hoho.

The resolution declared that any intentional breach of the Sumi Hoho’s resolution and that of its affiliated organizations by involving in activities linked with Naga Hoho will be considered as undermining the integrity of the entire Sümi tribe. It emphasized that Naga Hoho holds no significance for the Sümi community.

As a consequence of this resolution, three individuals – Inavi Swu, Atoho K Kiho, and Vikugha Pucho have been barred from participating in any social and religious events of the Sümi community for a period of six years, effective immediately, owing to their involvement in Naga Hoho activities.

Further, the Sümi Hoho banned the organization ‘Sümi Aphuyemi Hoho’ with immediate effect, deeming it as an organization ‘lacking a mandate’. The Sümi Hoho accused the Sümi Aphuyemi Hoho of “persistently disregarding the Sümi Hoho’s resolution to dissociate from Naga Hoho.”
