Directs departments to expedite submission of new appointment registrations

Kohima, 27 April (MTNews): In a recent directive issued by the government, all departments have been instructed to expedite the submission of applications for the registration of new appointments in the Personal Information Management System (PIMS) within two weeks of the issuance of the appointment order.

The move comes in response to observed delays in the submission process, causing undue hardship and inconvenience to government employees. The government emphasizes the importance of streamlining this process to ensure efficient administration.

According to the directive, only specific documents are required for registration, including the appointment order, appointment and release orders for retired employees with their respective PIMS numbers, and recommendations from various commissions such as NPSC, NSSB, DRB, or DLRB. Additionally, approval from the Administrative Head of Department (AHoD) and the advertisement order must be provided.

Notably, promotion orders will not be accepted as vacancy details. For compassionate appointments, clearance from the P&AR Department is mandatory.

Furthermore, Aadhaar numbers, along with photocopies of Aadhaar cards, must be submitted for each appointee. In cases where government employees were initially appointed in a non-regular capacity but subsequently regularized, orders of regularization are required.

For appointments based on land ownership, departments must adhere to the guidelines outlined in a previous memorandum dated 16 August 2018.

Heads of Departments (HoDs) are reminded to meticulously verify all applications before forwarding them to the P&AR Department through the AHoD to ensure compliance with the directives.
