Sungkomen Baptist Church Youth Ministry, Mokokchung, organized a drama event ‘Süngbennangmen’ under the theme ‘Healer’ on Friday, the 9th of September, 2022. The drama event is held every alternate year since 2016 to promote young talents and exchange creative and artistic skills among different churches and organizations.
Süngbennangmen was coined using four Ao words “Süng” meaning “tree”, “Tebenjem” meaning “flower bud”, “Süngnang” meaning “a place where woods are stacked” and “Amentet” meaning “to become better”. Just as right aged wood are stacked systematically in an appealing manner in our Naga homes, so also the youth of our society with their promising talents and desirable lives coming together under the Holy platform can glorify God’s name and devote their lives to become better Christians.
Youth from three different churches participated during the event highlighting corruptions and ills of our society such as clean election, unemployment, alcoholism, extortion, suicide, etc. whilst conveying the message that all these corruptions and ills can only be cleansed and healed by Christ, our Lord Saviour. Alempang Youth Ministry enacted a drama based on ‘Nagaland Unemployment’ crisis while Chuchuyimpang Youth Ministry threw light on ‘Clean Election’ and lastly, Sungkomen Youth Ministry culminated the drama by focusing on the higher power of ‘Christ, The Healer’.
