‘Angling to reopen for one week on popular demand’
Mokokchung, September 2 (MTNews): The annual Süngkotenem Angling Festival 2022 that began on August 19 concluded today at Süngkotenem Park, Mopungchuket. Moasemba was awarded the Season’s Biggest Catch Award for his 2.43 kg catch caught on August 22. Sentinok, Sosang and Bendang Jamir were the second, third and fourth place winners of the Season’s Biggest Catch award.
Winners of the Competition Day that was held on the opening day of the season were also awarded their cash prizes today.
Meanwhile, the Mopungchuket Community Tourism Society has informed that, on popular demand, the park will remain open for angling enthusiasts from September 5-10, 2022 although not as part of the annual event. It will be held on a ‘keep what you catch’ basis and the timing will be from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. MCTS informed that it will be ‘free style’ but treble hooks will not be allowed. Entry fee of Rs.300 per angler per day will be collected, it was informed.
