Mokokchung, 23 April (MTNews): The Political Science Association (PSA) of Fazl Ali College (FAC), Mokokchung, recently organized a ‘Tarun Sabha’ in the college auditorium. The event marked the inaugural youth parliament under the auspices of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India, and was also organized by the Political Science Association, FAC.
In his welcome address, Dr E Benrithung Patton, Head of the Department of Political Science, articulated the primary objective of the first youth parliament: to foster civic engagement and empower youth by equipping them with the requisite tools and knowledge for a comprehensive understanding of parliamentary affairs.
Tsukjemwati, the General Secretary of the BJP Mokokchung unit, delivered a speech underscoring the significance of both theoretical understanding and practical experience in parliamentary affairs.
The event saw the active participation of 50 Political Science honors students, who assumed various roles such as ruling MPs, MPs from the opposition, foreign delegates, and marshals. Moreover, students and faculty from Jubilee Memorial College (JMC), Jubilee Memorial School (JMS), MHSS, and Shisajen Riju were also in attendance, as per an update from the Information and Publicity Cell of FAC.
