Members of the IOC Taxi Union in Mokokchung town fixed several potholes along the New Market stretch of the Mariani Road between Milak Junction and Rotary Junction all by themselves on Wednesday evening.
The potholes were filled with boulders and earth. There were some very large potholes not only causing much inconvenience to vehicle commuters and pedestrians alike but also damage to the vehicles.
This is not the first time that the taxi owners have repaired potholes on this road. They have also undertaken a similar repair work on the same stretch of the road in September 2022 as well.
The said road is one of the arterial roads in Mokokchung town but has been left unattended by concerned authorities. The road reportedly falls under the purview of the Urban Development Department.
