Wokha District Cricket Association (WDCA) on Tuesday met the Deputy Commissioner at his residence before they embarked on their journey to participate in the ongoing Nagaland Senior Men’s Inter-District Cricket tournament organized by Nagaland Cricket Association at Sovima. The team will first play their match against Mokokchung District Cricket team on June 12.

Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Orenthung Lotha, exhorted the Cricket team to perform their best and bring achievement to the district, stating that Wokha is one among the pioneers of the game in Nagaland with its own Cricket Tournament which has crossed 25 years and is recognized by everyone. He wished them to strive in bringing a laudable record while advising them to be disciplined so that they be elevated to play in the state level or higher platforms.

 

He wished the team to be an example for the young cricket enthusiasts, while reminding the players that sport offers lucrative opportunities.
The team was accompanied by the Wokha District Cricket Association president Khamongo Humtsoe, team manager and team coach along with the members of WDCA.
