Mokokchung, June 4 (MTNews): The weeklong All India Football Federation (AIFF) D’ License Course held at Thenyizu Village under Phek district concluded on Saturday.

 

 A total of 22 participants including one lady from different districts including Dimapur, Peren, Kohima, Tuensang and Phek districts took part in the instructor course which was conducted by N William Koso, AIFF D Coach Educator and AFC A license coach.

During the weeklong camp, the coaches underwent two practical exams and one theory exam as part of their course assessments. The results of the course will be announced by AIFF at a later date.

 

During a short valedictory program on Saturday, instructor N William Koso expressed hope that the coaches will share and impart their knowledge to the younger generation whatever they have learned during the coaching camp. He said a good sportsperson becomes a role model in the society, and added that the coaches will not only nurture the young talents but also develop the society.

 

While appreciating Chokri Area Games and Sports Association (CAGSA) and the village for the initiative, adding that it was a good sign that the village is trying to promote sports at the grassroots level, he hoped more talents can be nurtured at the village level with the coaching camp for the coaches.

 

He also asked the young coaches to keep in touch to share the ideas, their plans and how to go about in the coaching career.

 

President of CAGSA Sekho Dawhuo said the course key elements were to train the coaches so that they can impart their knowledge about football at grassroots level in the remotest areas. He appreciated the instructor Koso, who is the only AFC A license coach in the state for rendering his time and knowledge to the coaches sharing his vast experience from Coach Education and Coaching Career. He hoped the coaches could excel in their career and bring out talented players to represent the state and the country one day.

 

Changsang, 35-year old and the oldest coach from Tuensang speaking on behalf of the trainee said he had learnt a lot from the weeklong camp and hoped to share his knowledge to the younger generation. While encouraging the coaches, he said it was not about passing or failing the course exam but the passion, dedication and love for the game which was more important.

 

The Course was organized by Chokri Area Games and Sports Association under the guidance of Football Association Phek District.
